Common questions about used crushers
What size crusher do I need?
Match the feed opening to your largest expected feed (with ~10% headroom) and the closed-side setting to your target product spec. For aggregate work, a 32×42 jaw is a common primary; for C&D recycling, a 26×40 portable jaw fits most regional jobs. Tell us your throughput target (TPH) and feed top-size and we'll narrow the field.
What's the difference between jaw, cone, and impact crushers?
Jaw crushers do primary reduction on hard, abrasive rock — they squeeze material between two plates. Cone crushers handle secondary and tertiary reduction with tighter product spec. Impact crushers (HSI / VSI) shine on softer material like recycled concrete or asphalt where shape and fines are valuable. We have a full breakdown in our blog — see "Jaw vs Impact vs Cone."
How do I know if a used crusher is worth buying?
Three things to verify: (1) actual hours on the crusher unit (not just the engine), (2) wear-part condition — jaw dies, cone mantles, blow bars, (3) hydraulic and structural integrity around the main jaw or chamber. We coordinate inspections on request and can pull video walkthroughs from sellers before you fly out.
Do you handle financing for crushers?
Yes — through Universal Finance. Most buyers pre-qualify within one business day. Typical financed range is $50K to $2M+ over 36-60 month terms.
Can you help me transport a crusher I buy from RPG?
Yes. We coordinate heavy-haul carriers across the lower 48 and into Canada. Buyer pays freight; we handle the logistics, permits, and scheduling.
